Hair wash number 1 (Day after procedure)
The day after your procedure, you will return to the clinic for your first hair wash. Here we remove the bandage from the back of the head and give the head a gentle wash. We also show you how to wash your hair every day until you see us again in 5 days. Everything you need for this is provided in your aftercare bag along with a chart of instructions on hair washing.
Hair wash number 2
At this stage, the donor area will be completely healed. The recipient area will be healing nicely, and there will be slight scabbing (all part of the healing process). The second hair wash is to gently remove the scabs and give the area a nice clean, resulting in the look of a “buzz cut” and you can return to your everyday life. The second wash can also be carried out over the telephone if you live too far away to return. The hair technician will talk you through everything that you need to do at this stage.
